Do you want to sing like a lark, or dance like a crane?

Bird Dances is a three-pronged choreographic work by Kareth Schaffer and Construction Company about migration: of birds and of people. Developed in an intensive community-based process of bird observation and the development of new social dances initially held in the largely rural area of Uecker-Randow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany), Bird Dances unfolds as a series of workshops, a video installation, and a dance performance.

The dance performance Bird Dances features short solos by four dancers whose own biographies intertwine with the stories of four birds: the marsh warbler, the nightingale, the red kite, and vagrant birds, all of whom spend their lives at least partially in Europe…
